Gender Party

Last night my brother Bear and his wife Laci hosted a "Gender Party" to reveal the gender of their first child. This was my first party of this type and it was FUN! The mommy and daddy went to the Dr. the day before for their ultrasound. Supposedly the technician put the gender in a sealed envelope and Laci and Bear went home just as curious as could be...it was going to be a surprise for all...even the parents! Laci took the envelope to a cupcake bakery and had them pipe icing into the center of each cupcake...pink or blue depending on what it was! The plan was for us all to take a bite into our cupcakes at the same time and be surprised. Well, just as we were going for the bite, Laci revealed that she and Bear "already knew!" Those little stinkers!! Pink icing filled the cupcakes. I'm going to have another niece in November!!

Atlantis, Bahamas

Jared and I enjoyed an all-expense paid trip to the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas, courtesy of Southern Living a Home. We've looked forward to this trip since last July when the company announced that the General Incentive trip would be to Atlantis! We've always wanted to go there. It was fun. I would've loved to have participated in the water park but was pretty sure the baby Dr. would say "no go"! The lazy river with a few wild rapids was the extent of that fun :) Enjoyed seeing all the sea life in the aquariums and shallow water tanks all over the resort. Our dinner at Mesa Grill (Bobby Flays restaurant) was delish! We also ate at the famous restaurant Carmines (there's one in NY and Atlantic City). It was fantastic! Had a pre-natal massage that wasn't all that great...Guess I'll just have to get another in the next few months..haha! Overall a great trip....Can't wait to find out where the next one will take us!!

Citrus Conference

This week we were in Bonita Springs for the annual Florida Citrus Industry Conference. This was our 6th year attending. Brooker enjoyed the pool and lazy river. At night while Jared and I were doing dinner/events, Brooker attended the Coconut Kids Club at the hotel. He loved it! Next year we'll have two little ones to chase...look out!!

Julia is here!

Our good friends from Punta Gorda, Rachel and Fred Walters, welcomed their third baby girl into the world today! Her name is Julia Berry Walters and she's so precious. We went to visit her and Brooker loved holding and loving on her. I knows she'll grow up to be just as cute and sweet as her two older sisters, Mary Martin and Georgia Mae. Congrats Walters Family!

Last Day of Preschool

Today is my little guy's last day of preschool. He's off for the summer! He has had the best year in Mrs. Lucy's class and always looked forward to going to school. I know he learned a lot this year both socially and academically. He's really looking forward to having his summer vacation BUT he reminds me everyday that he's going to be in the three-year old class upstairs next year!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Happy 29th Birthday Daddy! Enjoy this year because next June you will enter the big 30's!!!

Swimming Lessons

Brooker started swimming lessons on Saturday. Today was his second lesson and he did awesome! I must take you back about 3 weeks ago...Brooker was extremely frightened of the water. He was comfortable at the steps but as soon as I took him off the steps he clung to me and whined. Going under the water and jumping off the wall were completely out of the question. When I scheduled his lessons I told Mrs. Pat that he had really regressed from last year and that he would probably be starting from scratch. Well, at his first lesson she sorta looked at me and was like, "I thought you said he couldn't swim?" He totally proved me wrong but I'm so glad. After just two lessons he's a little fish and has gained so much confidence. We took him to the pool tonight after dinner and he amazed us with his swimming, jumping off the wall, holding his breath under water, floating on his back, diving down to get sticks off the bottom, and more. He said to us, "I'm a frog out of water but a fish in the water." Yeah for lots of swimming this summer :)

Swimming all by himself!

Jumping off the wall. By tonight he would just bail in without holding our hands.

End of the Year Party

Today Brooker's class went to the Children's Museum for their end of the year party and to celebrate birthdays for Nolan, Gracie, and Ava. As usual, he had a ton of fun. Of course he wanted his face painted too. After the museum we went back to school for cupcakes and fruit parfaits.
