Jared and Brooker had a great trip to Kentucky for the Youth Hunt Weekend! They left early Friday morning (and Brooker missed his 1st day of school ever!) and arrived to some chilly weather for those Florida boys. Bo and Baxlee picked them up at the airport and they were off to the hunting camp for the weekend. The cousins played a lot...Brooker and Rylie were in their prime getting dirty and without a care in the world! It was a fun weekend for all...No success with hunting but great memories were made!

A Visit to the Dowds
While our boys are away hunting in Kentucky, Mary Kate and I went to Vero to spend some time with Emily and her kiddos. Mary Kate was surprised when she saw the birthday cupcakes and gift that were for HER...it was an early birthday celebration with the Dowds since they aren't sure if they can make her actual party! She loved this sweet surprise. The kids swam, played, and played and played some more and Emily and I got to catch up! We only stayed one night but we sure enjoyed our visit with our friends!

Homecoming Parade
This afternoon Mary Kate and I picked up Brooker and Ellie from school. We went to the library to do homework before heading to the circle to watch the Homecoming parade downtown. It was fun to see all the Homecoming candidates as well as all the SHS sports teams and groups/clubs represented. After the parade we came home and had some yummy popcorn with candy corns mixed in!
Surprises from Nene and Pepa
On the girl's weekly visit to Nene and Pepa's house, they received goodies that they all loved...plastic horses. They were happy girls! When they got home to Laci's house, the girls all grabbed Halloween books and had some reading time in the living room...Laci sent us this cute picture of them deep in their reading!

Preschool Pumpkin Project
Mrs. Allison sent home a family pumpkin project this week. Mary Kate and I brainstormed how she could decorate her pumpkin. We were in the sewing room and I had tons of scrap fabric laying on the floor from lots of Halloween sewing. We decided she could cut some little squares out of the fabric and glue them on the pumpkin. She loves doing anything crafty so she enjoyed this. However, when we were done I asked her what she thought of her pumpkin and she said, "This is supposed to be my project so next time we should use MY idea." Haha...she's too much!

Happy Birthday to August
Brooker enjoyed getting to be August's guest at Chuck-E-Cheese! Erin sent me these pictures of the boys having so much fun. They went to the Halloween store afterwards and got a great scare! These two have such a special bond...Auggie and Bubba :)
Brooker Sets a PR
Brooker and Mammy set out to run a 5k at the Hammock in dreary, rainy weather this morning. I showed up to cheer them on but waited in my dry car until the 30 minute mark and went to watch them run in. I finally saw my mom coming but no Brooker! Turns out he finished the race in under 30 minutes and I completely missed it! Mom said he got at the front of the group and took off leading the race for a little while. He kept a great pace and finished in 29 minutes and 42 seconds...a new Personal Record for B-Man! He placed 2nd in the 10 and under age group...Mom placed 2nd in her age group as well!
